Silicones & Adhesives

In the field of Silicones we mainly talk about Silicone Rubber, Silicone Elastomers but also Silicone Resins, which can be processed as 1- or 2-Component systems on our Casting Machines.

Within these systems, a distinction is essentially made between room temperature (RTV) and high temperature curing (HTV) systems, which of course is also crucial for the selection of the appropriate Dispensing Machine.

Depending on the chemical composition of the system, silicones offer a wide variety of properties that range from High Temperature Resistance, practically Free of Shrinkage, high Accuracy in the Reproduction of Surface Details up to highly Transparent or Body Compatible.

Therefor Silicones can be used for a wide range of different applications from Medical as well as for Industrial Applications.

Among others it is used to cast e.g. Negative Molds for Wood or Stone Imitations, for Prototyping of Technical Parts, for Printing Rollers and even for Prostheses, Implants or Skin Friendly Wound Dressings.

When it comes to adhesives, a distinction is primarily made between Silicone. Epoxy Resin or Polyurethane Adhesives. These can be used as 1- or 2-component adhesives and in most cases are systems that can be applied cold and that harden over time.

Depending on the type of adhesive, they are characterized by their hardness and resistance to moisture, many chemicals and environmental influences.

That is why they are used as structural adhesives in many areas of industry as e.g. in the Automotive Industry or in the Construction of Wind Turbines for gluing the half-shells of Rotor Blades.

But also large-area bonds, such as those used, for example. in the production of Sandwich Panels are required within this scope.
